  17. <p>     "An obvious Madonna rip-off!" The uninformed listener
  18. might be forgiven such a response when first hearing Ingrid
  19. Chavez, whose blend of breathy vocals against a sensual
  20. dance-rock background sounds remarkably like Ms. Ciccone's
  21. Justify My Love. But the comparison is facts-backward: it is
  22. Chavez who co-penned Justify (now bearing her name as the result
  23. of an out-of-court settlement with credited collaborator Lenny
  24. Kravitz) and Chavez who developed the romantic rap style
  25. suffusing her debut album, Ingrid Chavez, including the
  26. recording's first single, Hippy Blood, released last week.
